Candida Glibrata During Pregnancy

DVD FILM AWARD 2010 CERVANTES BOOK PRESENTATION

For those who think age, old age, as an impediment to doing new things, to promote projects, to realize old dreams, there is Ana Maria Matute, wonderful writer, great woman, who in his 85 years - it is said - just received one of the greatest joys of his life: Cervantes Prize, which in his words is the commitment to a lifetime of work, effort, imagination, and of course, of doubts, failures, that all life is in the Lord, and of course yours, how could it be otherwise in the case of a woman who has lived, both in reality and in fiction, "moments of joy , sadness and disappointment.

Despite which said "life is magic" when he learned through the mouth of the minister González Sinde that she was chosen to receive an award that eluded him for years, it did not meet the merit necessary, but because they are women.

One of the many injustices have been committed by defect or excess of women because they do not think anyone discuss the literary merits of the great Catalan writer, able to delight us with a careful prose, connecting, over almost 35 years, with several generations of readers, whether male or female, young or old .

Ana Maria, like so many other writers of his time, he has had to overcome the rigors of a harsh dictatorship, a demanding and authoritarian mother, an education that women occupied a secondary place . He has done as best he knew how: turning on paper their innermost feelings, their experiences tougher, giving vent to his childhood memories their dreams, their loneliness as a woman and writer who craved a more just and egalitarian. An equality that is already real, although there are still pockets where machismo, violence and discrimination remain in place.

My most sincere congratulations, because it has become a mirror in which thousands, millions of women can look proud to belong to the female gender.

In the library, you can read his books:

Fireflies
The Abel
uninhabited paradise
The watch tower
Northwest Fiesta
The dead children
